A HUGE Thank-You!

Here are some pictures from the big weekend sale! I think it's safe to say that the Fifth Annual Northwood's Convention was a success and we are so pleased to have been a part of it with you. In addition, we are so happy that so many of you chose to stop in at some point during the weekend to check out what was new at the store, take a class, take advantage of our many make'n'takes that we had set up or to do a bit of shopping, we thank you for your patronage and look forward to the next time that you stop in to play! Until next time...

September Newsletter

All the hustle and bustle of getting the kids ready to go back to school and the realization that those summer days are disappearing fast makes one stop and take an inventory of sorts: Did you take an interesting vacation or two? Did you have some family or friends visit? Did you have any momentous events take place? Did you create memories that you want to record for yourself or those that you love? Now is the perfect time to record those special moments and milestones while they are still fresh in your memory so that future generations can know just what it was that happened this summer of 2007.

For our scrapbookers we now have in stock the Love, Elsie Jack & Abby line of patterned papers, canvas adhesive backed paper and cardstock stickers. We love how this line centers around the theme of home, something that always brings comfort this season it seems.

We also have in the beautiful patterned papers from Heidi Grace Designs which are embossed, flocked, and/or embellished with glitter. These are absolutely amazing! You have to stop in and touch them for yourself to get the full effect...perfect for Fall layouts and/or cards. In addition to the patterned papers we have the coordinating cardstock stickers, chipboards, rub-ons and more!

Also from Heidi Grace Designs we have some patterned papers that are more youthful feeling and fun (pictured below) as well as some more adhesive backed chipboard alphabets in different colors, gel alphabet stickers, rain dots, rub-ons and puffy stitches stickers (these are so fun, you've got to see them for yourself!).

Just placed on the shelves is the new Bo Bunny line of patterned papers and embellishments. This line is very rich in color and is perfect for Fall with the deep burgundy, brown, forest green and deep purples that it showcases.

Cosmo Cricket has also impressed us this season with the beautiful Gretal line of patterned papers, die-cuts, and the Lil Girls Paper Crafting Kit as well as the Lil Boys Paper Crafting Kit. The kits include letter stickers, die-cuts and phrases perfect for journaling prompts on your scrapbook layouts.

New stamps that are in include those from Hero Arts (Collage, Halloween, Thanksgiving/Fall, and Christmas), Fiskars (clear stamps) and Heidi Grace (clear stamps). Stop in today to check out these fun and versatile stamps. Get great ideas for using your stamps by perusing the make'n'takes that are created weekly by the girls or the Hero Arts website -- a great source of inspiration for those that want an idea for something using a specific Hero Arts stamp. If you stumble upon something interesting be sure to share it with us...we love getting ideas from you!

The Squash Book Class has really been a success, thank you to all that have participated in the classes with us this summer. We are now switching gears a bit and offering a class teaching the hanging wall organizers (pictured below). This class will be offered Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8pm and you have a choice between using Cosmo Cricket papers (the earth toned one pictured) or the Scenic Route papers (the one featuring brighter colors). The cost of the class is just $20 and you are supplied with everything that you need to make the organizer. We are excited about this class as it offers something that is creative, crafty and useful! Be sure to sign up for this class as we want to make sure there will be room for you on the night that you would prefer to attend. Our number at the Baker's Wife is (715) 356-5626. Also, for any of you that may have wanted to take the class on the Squash Book there is still hope! Just give a call and ask for Lynne or Joella and they will be glad to set up a special appointment for you to make the book with someone at the store.

Demos pictured were created by Lynne Zickert.

The Baker's Wife is now featured on the Lantow Photography site! You can check us out here (scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the layout created by Jen). And for those interested in getting portraits done by Lantow Photography check out the information below regarding the dates and times that they will be in Arbor Vitae offering sittings.

Hopefully each of you are able to find time for yourself this fall season. Whether that means taking a walk and enjoying the beautiful weather and surroundings that we are so blessed with here in the Northwoods, spending time with family or taking some minutes out of the day to create a scrapbook layout, a card or to simply read your favorite magazine or book...we hope that you continue to remember that we are here and that you know that we always look forward to sharing our time with you!

Happy Crafting!
